Let’s face it, for most busy professionals, business conferences and remote meetings aren’t usually something to look forward to.
For delegates, it often means yet another night in a featureless hotel in a grey suburb. For organisers and committees, it means trying to juggle planning, needs and expectations, with a lot invested in sheer good luck that everything will go as hoped.
At The Moat House in Acton Trussell, we’re putting some much-needed ease, comfort and fun back into these often draining and problematic aspects of your corporate calendar.
We asked three organisations what it was we did differently, and what it is we do better.
Convenient luxury and stress-free days
For Linda Conway, Regional Executive of SSWSCA (Staffs, Salop and Wolverhampton Society of Chartered Accountants), the setting is key.
Less than a mile from Junction 13 on the M6, yet providing an idyllic, waterside, country manor setting in a pretty village, even the drive up to 14th century, Grade 2 listed hotel begins to break the monotony and predictability of a typical business day.
With over 40 four star rated luxury bedrooms and an award-winning restaurant and dining facilities, guests have a chance to unwind before they’ve even stepped into one of our adjoining conference rooms.
“For us, it’s also knowing that we won’t need to worry about anything,” says Linda, who uses the Moat House for SSWSCA’s widely attended annual dinners and calendar of CPD events.
“The conference team are always reliable, with everything already done when you arrive. Every detail is checked ahead of time, and the odd time we’ve had an unexpected change in the day, staff have just jumped to it and it’s been sorted before a delegate has stepped through the door. We know how hard it is to please everyone, but the team are wonderfully supportive and patient with everyone there, accommodating and responding to issues quickly and cheerfully. It takes all the stress out of it. You enjoy yourself; it makes for such a relaxed event.”
Inspiring, energising space
Nine modern, bright and comfortable conference rooms, kitted out with all the latest technology you’d expect from a premier conferencing facility, provide a flexible framework for you to build your day around.
From rustic, beamed meeting rooms, to large exhibition or lecture spaces, cosy lounges, grounds to walk around with benches to rest on, we give you the space to spread out and change the energy of your meetings, whether you need a space for just the two of you or two hundred.
It’s important to us to create something positive throughout every aspect of your time with us. We want to show you what we think good business should be about: creative, flexible, people-centred and rewarding. We want to leave you feeling good.
“The great thing about using the Moat House for us, is that it sets an example of a local business doing it well. No one touches what you do,” Claire Said, Manager of Stafford Chamber of Commerce told us, who organises Chamber and local business exhibitions as well as member social events with us.
“The Moat House stands out as it’s not just about what you provide; it’s the outstanding customer service that comes with it. You inspire the people we bring to you.”
Freedom to do something different
With our conferencing rooms easily reorganised for small or large-scale banqueting facilities and extensive outdoor areas that can be used for outdoor events through our partner companies, you don’t need to limit your delegates to sitting and twiddling their pens.
For Marie Moore, the UK’s HR and Business Administrator for Orthofix International, this was a particular draw: “We were able to combine a two day sales meeting with all kinds of fun team-building activities. Archery, buggy racing… You can always find a hotel in the countryside but it’s hard to find one that can offer that kind of added extra.”
For SSWSCA’s annual dinner last year, this flexibility meant casino tables, a three course meal and making use of our private bar, as well as a formal agenda. “It worked so well,” Linda told us, “Genuinely one of the best business evenings I’ve had: a great atmosphere and the food was fabulous.”
Whether you need a quiet, convenient space to meet a client over coffee or have something bigger or more creative in mind, we can make sure our conferencing facilities in Staffordshire will work for you. Our dedicated conference and events team are always on hand to answer questions and start the ball rolling, so just let us know what you need to make happen and we’ll take it from there.
